Dear Madam,

My article is dedicated to my wife, and to all women across the Globe. My good wishes on the occasion of women’s day to all, which will be celebrated on 8^th March 2012. My sincere thanks to one of my friend who inspired me to write an article on women day. Though I am big supporter of women and their rights.

Upto the 18^th century women were meant for the house hold work and used only as a reproduction machine, they don’t have any right to take part in the public issues or administrative matter the issues were basically handled by the male members in fact they had monopoly and dictatorship over woman members. A woman is only become important when she gives birth to the male baby, it looks that to deliver a baby boy or baby girl is in her hand or she feels discriminative pain while giving birth to the female baby.

We have to accept in the women power she is much forward with male counterpart, not in the present time but since from early ages too. In the year 1236 to May 1240 Razia Sultana became the only woman monarch to have ever ruled on Delhi. Razia Sultan, was the Sultan of Delhi, princesses of that time, she was trained to lead armies and administer kingdoms if necessary. Razia Sultana, the fifth Mamluk Sultanate was the only woman ruler of both the Sultanate and the Mughal period.

We have to keep remember the name of 3^rd Prime Minister of independent India and the 1st woman Prime Minister of the country, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, was one of the most powerful and best female leaders. Indira Gandhi is a female leader who brought a difference to the country. She ruled from 1966-77 and then again came to power from 1980-84. in 1984 she was assassinated by one of her own bodyguards. She was responsible for the war East Pakistan and India against West Pakistan, resulted in the secession of East Pakistan, which became the independent Islamic Nation of Bangladesh on 26 March 1971.

Justice Fathima Beevi was the first female judge of the Supreme Court of India whose tenure lasted from October 6 1989 to April 29, 1992. She was first woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court as Justice.

Now things are changing & women are not meant only for the house hold work, and can not be confined into the cages. They are also educated as any other member of the society. Women are always considered as feeble and soft member of the society but it is proved through medical science a women can bear 70% pain more than a male and have got more tolerance than male. Whether it is a labour or menses or in family dispute or in any other matter, a woman is find to be more tolerant and adjustable.

Religiously women are the respected member of the society and have got utmost respect almost in every religion. In Hinduism she has been worshiped in the form of Sita, Durga. In Islam she has got respect in the form of Hazare Aayesha R.A.A. and Bibi Fatima R.A.A. In Christianity she has got respect in the form of Mother Merry and Mother Teressa. If God has provided respect to the female members then we don’t have any right to forget the Divine path and doing atrocities on the females.

I am personally in favour to provide proper wages to the women in comparison to the male in the work place, but I feel that there is no need of reservation in the parliament or office of profit for the ladies, because, to give reservation to them we are making them realise that they are weaker members of the society, and they can not compete with their male counterpart of the society. I personnaly feel that reservation is not required for ladies. As a sign of respect extra place would be there in the public transport or public places, but as far as working place is concerned it would be injustice to the other members of the society. Now women are no more less than any body, women can do any job in a better way so why reservation is required.

It would be matter of concern for civilized society that indeed we are living in the 21^st century of modern world, but still women are not 100% safe specially in deserted areas, they are also not safe at work place or even at home. Because of the opposite sex attraction and malicious and dirty mentality, crimes against women are high. Female members are required to protected. Dowry, Rape, abortion of female fetuses, Kidnapping, Molestation, are some common crimes against ladies.

At the time of communal riots, the hooligans and gundas are attacking on the female members because of their less resistance power. Several female members were gang raped in 1984 Hindu-Sikh Riots, 1992 Hindu-Muslim Riots, 2002 Hindu-Muslim Riots and 2008 Hindu-Christian Riots.

We are living the 21^st century but still women are hesitating to move alone in the deserted, dark areas of the city. Why women are not 100% safe this is because of the mentality and sexual attraction of the opposite sex. They will become safe and can move any where without cruse of a male when the mentality and the intention of the opposite sex will become absolutely normal.
