Dear Sir,
After my
article “Do the
Statue of Unity will bring unity?????.” on
statue of Patel in
Gujarat, now obliviously it should be the turn of Shivaji’s Statues to be
erected in middle of Arabian Sea. How Maharashtra Government can remain behind
with its arch rival BJP in the matter of Statue, if Narendra Modi planning to
build the statue of Patel then it would be statue of Shivaji in
Maharashtra. But in this all episode one
thing is clear the public money is exhausted for no reason in silly matters,
whether it is the statue of Shivaji or human rights violator Patel, no issues,
because in politics everything is fair, but big vote bank should not
loose. If a substantial amount of people
demands the statue of Aurangzeb, then Govt. would have fulfilled the demands
too, looking at the vote and the demands of the people. It is demand made by Shiv Sena then the
statue of Shivaji come into existence. If a big amount of people demands the
statue of Aurangzeb in parallel to the statue of Shivaji it will be erected,
because of vote bank.
In the year Oct.
2013 statue of Patel have announced to come into existence and exactly after
five months the statue of the Shivaji announced and Maharashtra Govt. cleared
Rs. 100 crores in the Assembly House of Maharashtra. It is very laughable Narendra Modi Chief
Minister of communal Gujarat claimed that statue of Patel would be the tallest
in the world, and the same is the version of Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr.
Prathviraj Chavan, that statue of Shivaji will be the tallest in the world,
which statue is the tallest and which leader is the bigger, that is the big
question.
Secondly, who
has given power to Mr. Prathviraj Chavan and Congress Govt. to invest Rs. 100
Crores on the dead man? It is public
money, tax payer’s money, how Chief Minister can take decision at his own
without taking the people of the state into confidence. The mistake which has been committed by the
BJP and Hitler mentality people if the same is committed by the so called
democratic, ethics followers principle defined, democratic Govt. of Congress
then there is no different in politics between BJP and Congress, both the
parties are two face of single coin.
Instead of investing 100 crores on Shivaji’s Statue
the Chief Minister should have utilized the amount for the uplift and to rehabilitate
the people of biggest Slum of Asia which is in Mumbai and human being would
have benefited in 100 crores. Do Chief
Minister have gone crazy, misusing the public money, which should be utilize
for the public and not a man who remained in the History books.
It has become a tradition to erect the statues of any
personality and making substantial money by the politicians. Former Chief
Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati created park named after Ambedkar Garden with
total cost of the project is estimated to cross over Rs. 1200 crores. Park housed several statues of Buddha, in the
heart of this sprawling complex, stands a 112 ft. high memorial resembling a
Stupa with 18 ft. high bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar. The cost of the two
fountains are 3 crores each and elephant court which house 60 statues of
elephants costing 65 lakhs, addition to that 10 marbles elephants cost of each
is 34 crores.
Is it not the
misuse of public money, which should be utilize in more sophisticated manner
rather to waste in statues or senseless things.
Central Government
should take immediate cognizance and freeze the amount which has been sanctioned
for the statues. Else ask the concerned
politicians and Chief Ministers to construct the statues with their own pocket.
Thanking you,
Zuber Ahmed Khan
