Dear Sir,
The conditions of Jails in India has once again opened their wrist when
it has come in the knowledge of the Jail authorities that hard core criminal
Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasaab is down with fever and suffering with Dengue. He was suffering with dengue and down since 1nd
of Nov. 2012 upto 5th of Nov. 2012, but the jail authorities only
come to know after five days. This is
the serious laps at the part of the Jail authorities. If the hard core international criminal like
Kasaab is down with fewer and authorities come aware after five days then what
would be the conditions of the normal or petty criminals.
After the incident come into light the blame game is started. The BMC officials claimed that they are asked
not to carry out fogging in Kasab cell and not authorized to carry out fogging,
because of high security zone of Kasab cell, according to the Addl. Municipal
Commissioner they are not allowed & have access to conduct the fogging near
Kasab Cell. But the version of the
inspector general prison is contrary to the Addl. Municipal commissioner
Manisha Mhaiskar, according to the inspector general prisons Vinod Lokhande, who
says there was never any restriction to carry out fogging near Kasab cell. If anybody
would have contacted us we would have allow them for fogging with an escort. This is all the non co-operation between the
officers of different political back ground, because BMC is hold up by the Shiv
Sena who never tolerates Kasab will be provided any facility. Because of negligence of the Govt. authorities jail inmates un necessarily
being suffered for no reason.
On 8th
of June 2012, the alleged IM operative has been murdered in a very inhuman way
by Hindu Hardliners in Pune’s Yarvada Jail. The Yarvada jail is
considered one of the most safe Jails amongst all in India. He was lodged
in high security Anada Cell but still two culprits entered into cell and strangled
him with a rope and murdered. After this incident the blame game started. It was also a serious laps, negligence and
delinquency of duty at the part of Jail Authorities, Jailor and the Home
Ministry of Maharashtra.
Monday,
April 17, 2006 Gangester Abu Salem abused to Indian authorities and filed an
affidavit in the court of law for violation of extradition treaty which
presupposes that Salem will be in India for trial, not investigation. The investigating agencies keep on slapping
charges against extradited gangster Abu Salem,
he accused the jail authorities in Jail he has been constantly been
given trouble in late hours people are coming and beating him, slapping him to
whom he don’t know.
In year July
2008 some 7/11 train blasts accused were mercilessly beatenup with batons,
sticks and stones by jailor Swati Sathe and others. Most of the Jail inmates
fractured their legs, and they cannot given any medical treatment. At least 30 accused were beaten mercilessly
on June 28, 2008 under the guise of shifting them to other prisons. Jailor Swati Sathe justified the beating.
Sathe had on her affidavit said that the under trial prisoners started
shouting. Sathe contended that the jail
manual allows jail authorities to use force whenever necessary and accordingly
minimal force was used. However, the petitioner’s counsel argued that there was
no occasion for the use of force. As there was dispute about the facts related
to the case, the HC had ordered a judicial inquiry to decide whether the use of
force by the jail staff was necessary or not.
As usual,
Gujarat State proved to be safe havens for the Hindu Terrorists. On 27th day of June 2012 Ahmadabad
blast accused made a complained to special court that they were forcibly made
nude on the pretext of frisking in presence of all jail inmates in common
area. Special court ordered an inquiry
and sought the report from the Jailor.
On May 18th 2012 at Sabarmati
Jail an accused is reported that he forced to
remove his cloths at the entrance of the Jail even he could not stand properly
because of his fractured leg, but he was asked to stand for long in the name of
frisking and checking.
Denmark High
Court has refused to extradite Kim Davy expressing apprehension that he may be
subject to torture in India. The jury of
five Judges special bench pointed out that India has not ratified the UN
torture convention. They pointed out that Davy if extradited to India would be
subject to torture or any other inhuman treatment.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
