Dear Sir,
Implement the recommendations of Interlocutors with immediate effect and maintained the status prior to 1953. New Delhi should grant Autonomy / independence to the Kashmir, so that the Kashmiris don’t have to depend on anybody. They can live with honor and resources. Any further delay in decision-making in favor of Kashmiris could be disastrous for both Kashmiris and India. The Kashmirs do have the efficient leadership, resources and the capacity to govern their own nation in a peaceful manner.
Nothing will go wrong if Indian Government provided absolute autonomy or maintained the status before 1953 to Jammu & Kashmir, as suggested by the Interlocutors for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. As the same was in practiced in the state prior 1953. However, after a series of constitutional amendments diluted the state’s autonomy and gives authority to the center on the State of Jammu and Kashmir. If Indian Government provides status before 1953 to the Kashmir, the People of Kashmir should welcome the move for the time being.
Amnesty to 1200 J&K stone pelters by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah just two days before Id is not enough. All the political prisoners, and freedom fighters should be released without any conditions. It is learned that detainees were being mistreated in jails. “Political prisoners are being kept with criminals in jails outside the state and they are being humiliated by the criminals within state jails. Even leaders are being harassed by the criminals in these jails,” alleged by TeH leader.
